SWITCHING - DEVICE RELOAD - MISSING CONFIGURATION

Below can cause “Startup configuration” by pass during reloads.

 Based on Switches Image

1. IOS –Validate  it should be -> Configuration register is 0x2102 or 0x102
2. IOS-XE – Validate it should be->  Configuration register is 0x2102 or 0x102 and SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG = 0

Command:

Show tech support | i register

Show tech support | in SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG

Show romvar | in SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG

Problematic Condition 

in romvar if we see below output

Switch: SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG=1     --- Problem by pass StartUp

 

Switch: SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG=1

or

Switch# no system ignore startupconfig switch all
