IOS - PLAY - NTP (Network Time Protocol) - LAB

 NTP (Network Time Protocol)

NTP is very important feature for Network as this sync the Clock time and advantage for correct time information during troubleshooting 

Lets Play and learn about NTP with LAB 

CONDITION 

Need to configure NTP for Company , we need to sure complete network is synchronized and up-to-date.


LAB SETUP FOR NTP LEARNING




CONFIGURATION STEP AND CHALLENEGS  - 

EIGRP has been configured for full connectivity.

Configure router B and C to be NTP Masters, use stratum 10.





Make sure router B and C synchronize with each other.



Router D has to check router B and C for NTP updates, it has to prefer router C.



Configure router D so it broadcasts NTP packets on its Fast Ethernet 1/0 interface.


Configure router E so it configures itself using the NTP broadcast packets from router D.


Configure router B to send NTP packets to multicast address 239.0.0.1

- Multicast Routing enabled 



- ip pim dense-mode enable on interface 




Lets check PIM status 




Good we have seen 


Configure router A to configure itself using the NTP multicast packets.


The Multicast Routing information on B and A , you can see (S,G) and (*,G) Routes if you aware Multicast is good to understand these Routes


Now lets validate the NTP status on Routers 

On B And C as they are NTP masters with stratum 10









On A is also NTP Sync with B and you notice Stratum 11





On D is also NTP Sync with B and you notice Stratum 11




On E is also NTP Sync with D and you notice Stratum 12 




ALL LOOK GOOD AND TEST SUCCESSFULL LAB :)
